A World Leader in Aircraft Disassembly – Where Sustainability Takes Flight

Sustainable Aviation at ASI

For more than 29 years, ASI has been dedicated to shaping a greener future for the aviation industry. From day one, we have delivered sustainable, environmentally responsible aircraft‑disassembly services designed to minimise our carbon footprint and champion a circular‑economy approach. Sustainability isn’t a separate initiative — it’s a mindset that underpins every aspect of our work, from daily operations to our long‑term vision.

We believe that sustainability in aviation begins with responsible asset management and extends far beyond the end of an aircraft’s service life. Across our fully accredited (AFRA Diamond KPI Level/ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 9001:2015) facility, we embed best‑practice processes that promote reuse, maximise material recovery, and significantly reduce waste.

Pioneers in Ethical Aircraft Disassembly

As a founding member of AFRA, ASI was among the first organisations worldwide to achieve accreditation. Today, we hold AFRA’s prestigious Diamond KPI Level Status — the highest level of recognition awarded. This honour reflects exceptional performance in sustainable practices and places us among the most environmentally responsible aircraft‑disassembly facilities worldwide.

Environmentally Compliant Recycling of Aircraft Components

We recover and recycle aircraft parts to the highest global environmental compliance standards. By returning serviceable components to the aftermarket, we extend their lifecycle, reduce the need for new manufacturing, and play an active role in lowering industry‑wide emissions.

Maximising the Value of Airframes

We ensure the maximum return on disassembled aircraft by supplying fuselage sections — both wide‑ and narrow‑bodied — to meet the bespoke needs of customers worldwide. These sections are repurposed for education, training, simulation, leisure, entertainment, and other innovative applications.

Supporting Research into Next‑Generation Recycling Technologies

We’re supporting the future of carbon‑fibre recycling through early‑stage collaboration with universities and research centres. This work is still in its early development, but these partnerships mark an important step towards understanding how composite materials might one day be recovered and reused within aviation. By investing in this foundational research, we’re helping lay the groundwork for more sustainable end‑of‑life pathways for composite aircraft across the industry.

Diverting Waste From Landfill

Our priority is to ensure that the maximum proportion of each disassembled aircraft is diverted from landfill. In partnership with fully accredited environmental specialists, we facilitate the removal, processing, and recycling of materials that cannot be re‑used in aviation — ensuring responsible handling at every stage.

Driving Long‑Term Environmental Progress

At ASI, sustainability is not a static goal but an evolving responsibility. As the aviation industry continues to innovate, we remain committed to advancing environmentally responsible practices and collaborating with partners who share our vision for a circular, lower‑carbon future. Our work today is designed to ensure that every aircraft we handle contributes to a more sustainable tomorrow — for our customers, our industry, and the wider environment.
