SIMON UPTON VOTED ONTO AFRA BOARD

150 150 Air Salvage International

Simon Upton, Operations Manager has been appointed onto the Aircraft Fleet Recycling Association (AFRA) Board for a three year term. AFRA was officially formed 17 years ago in Chateauroux, France by seven industry leaders, and as one of the original founding members, it gives Air Salvage International (ASI) great pride to retain our position on the Board – congratulations to Simon!

During those yearly years of the Association, we were heavily involved in formulating AFRA’s Best Management Practice (BMP) Guide used across the industry today. Furthermore, with the assistance of Boeing, ASI guided the Environment Agency through legislation and control of aircraft waste and recycling to develop bespoke UK aircraft recycling permits.

We look forward to working with AFRA to further improve the delivery of environmentally responsible services, along with our continuing commitment to addressing the challenges faced by recycling advanced materials.
