On 18th March we join the world in commemorating Global Recycling Day ♻️which was created in 2018 to help recognise and celebrate the importance that recycling plays in preserving our precious primary resources and securing the future of our planet.
Since its formation 28 years ago ASI has been committed to a greener future by delivering sustainable and environmentally responsible aircraft disassembly services that minimise our carbon footprint, with circular economy principles at our core.
How do we promote a culture of reuse and sustainability within our fully accredited business?
✅ By recycling aircraft components to the highest environmentally compliant standards for the global aftermarket, thus extending their lifespan and reducing the demand for newly manufactured replacements.
✅ Ensuring that the return on unwanted airframes is maximised by supplying fuselage sections (wide and narrow-bodied) to meet the bespoke requirements of our extensive network of customers across the globe for education, training, leisure, and entertainment purposes.
✅ Working with aviation research centres and universities with the aim to develop efficient and sustainable methods of recycling carbon composite materials that are increasingly being used in airframe manufacturing.
✅ Averting the maximum amount of waste from landfill by collaborating with a trusted environmentally approved partner for the removal and eventual recycling of the maximum amount of the unwanted airframe material from our facility.
And finally, we’ve been a pioneer in promoting ethical, high standards of aircraft disassembly through our involvement in the formation of the Aircraft Fleet Recycling Association (AFRA) in 2006. As one of the original founding members of the Association, our services were at the forefront of the development of their Best Management Practices which are used worldwide throughout the industry today – something we are very proud of.
