Two decades ago, Air Salvage International stood alongside a handful of like‑minded organisations with a shared belief: the aviation industry needed a better, more responsible way to manage aircraft at the end of their service life. That belief led to the creation of AFRA — and today, that early vision has grown into a global force for sustainable aviation.
From pioneering recycling standards to championing transparency and environmental responsibility, AFRA has transformed how the world thinks about aircraft retirement. ASI has been part of that journey from day one, helping to shape the practices that now define the industry.
Reflecting on the anniversary, CEO Mark Gregory says:
“Being part of AFRA’s founding was a defining moment for ASI. We believed the industry needed a responsible, transparent, and sustainable framework — and AFRA has delivered exactly that.”
