A world leader in aircraft disassembly – serving the global aviation industry
Cotswold Airport (EGBP)
Our fully accredited asset management facility is in the heart of the Cotswolds at Cotswold Airport (EGBP), which is the largest privately-owned GA airport in the UK.
GCAM (EASA 145/Cayman Islands/Guernsey 2-REG approved MRO) and Skyline Aero (component supply) also operate at the same site. The trinity of businesses complement each other providing parts traders with global leading disassembly services, and the likes of lessors and banks with a unique ‘one-stop-shop’ whilst evaluating asset optimisation.
Cotswold Airport’s 2,009 metre runway and ample parking ensures the acceptance of the full range of commercial narrow and wide-bodied aircraft for storage or disassembly, including the Airbus A340-600.
The airport is in the process of making a change to its airspace by implementing a new GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System Approach System) to provide a modern equivalent to a traditional Instrument Landing System (ILS). It is a key element of the Communications, Navigation, and Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) systems as well, as a foundation upon which aerodromes can deliver improved aeronautical navigation services. The airport’s growth area and focus is providing a bespoke business jet service, honed by years of serving the Royal Flight, whilst providing a thriving GA hub for private aviation.
Cotswold Airport was formerly known as RAF Kemble and now is a very busy airport for microlights, general aviation, corporate aircraft and airliners. There are roughly 34,000 aircraft movements in a year with the airfield operating 24/7, though the FIS (Flight Information Service) is only open during published opening times. These can be found via their website.
The airfield offers a newly refurbished restaurant called the AV8 with a viewing area of the runway. This is the only area accessible to the general public as the airfield is protected by the Aviation and Maritime Security Act 1990. Airfield security is of paramount to the airport, and Air Salvage International works closely with them protecting the daily operation of the aerodrome.
